茨城県立土浦第一高等学校・附属中学校長のよぎ（プラニク・ヨゲンドラ）です。本校のホームページへアクセス頂き誠にありがとうございます。
本校は125年以上の歴史を持つ伝統校です。常に教育内容を研究し、生徒の飛躍を支援してきました。本校の卒業生は様々な業界で活躍しており、先日、宇宙飛行士候補者に選ばれた諏訪理（すわ まこと）さんも本校の卒業生であります。このような卒業生は本校の誇りであります。部活動や課外活動などにおいて同窓会の皆様には様々な形で協力頂いております。また、本校の旧本館は国指定重要文化財の認定を受けており、我々の宝物です。
私は「志のみ持参」という言葉を経営理念に掲げています。志とは、ある方向を目指す強い気持ち、または相手のためを思う厚意という意味があります。本校の全生徒にこの言葉を胸に刻んで欲しいと思いますし、教職員も思いやりをもって生徒の成長を支援したいと思っています。
本校の校訓は、｢自主・協同・責任｣であります。そこに「肯定感・思いやり・国際性」の概念を合わせ、自己肯定感を持ち自主的に行動し、思いやりを持ち協同し、多様な考え、国際的な視野を持って、皆さんに頑張って欲しいと思います。常にポジティブでいることは自分が選ぶことです。何があっても冷静に対応し、笑顔でいること、自分を愛し、周りの人びとを思いやる心を持つよう生徒の支援を行って参ります。周りの人達から尊敬され、自ら誇りをもって生きることのできる「人間一流」の人を育てることが私どもの願いであります。
本校には授業・部活・行事の３つを大切にする「一高スタイル」があります。学びや活動のペースは速く、生徒には志を持って、積極的に全てのことに取り組んで欲しいと思います。特に高校の３年間は学生生活の中で一番濃厚で、一番大切な期間だと思っています。この期間中により多くを学び、よりたくさん汗を流し、充実した学生生活を送って欲しいです。自分の長短所をしっかりと理解し、短所を乗り越え、様々なことに取り組んで欲しいと思います。
私事ですが、2023年４月１日より本校の校長に就任しました。学校関係者の皆様の中には期待及び不安の両方があろうかと思います。私は、人間や人間社会、教育や技術的な発展のエンドゴールは「幸せ」であると思っています。社会構造が複雑化し、サバイバルの難度が上がっていく世の中です。次世代に求められるものが常に高度化しています。そのような変化に対応できるよう「インテリジェンスを育てる楽しい学校」を目指して、「不易流行」の考え方で本校の更なる改善に努めたいと思います。
在校生についてですが、中学生活から高校生活にかけて身体、精神、その他における変化が激しく、生徒が自立しようとしています。このような大事な時期において本校の保護者の皆様と二人三脚で生徒の成長を支援したいと思っています。生徒の学校での毎日は忙しいです。保護者の皆様に特にお願いしたいのはお子様との毎朝の約１５分のジョギングまたは運動と毎晩の約５分の振り返りです。
本校にご興味をお持ちの生徒、保護者、教育関係者、本校の教育に力をお貸し頂ける企業や団体、報道関係者などの皆様はお気軽に本校までご連絡ください。土浦一高から「教育」を「共育」の次のステージにもっていきたいと思います。

Namaste! Hello! I am Yogi (Puranik Yogendra), the Principal of Ibaraki Prefectural Tsuchiura First High School & Affiliated Junior High School. Thank you for visiting our school's website.
Our school has a history and tradition of more than 125 years. We have always researched the educational content to support the leaping growth of our students. Graduates of our school are active in all kind of industries. Mr. Makoto Suwa, who was recently selected as an astronaut candidate, is also a graduate of our school. Such graduates are the pride of our school. Our strong alumni association contributes the school’s club and extracurricular activities in various ways. Our old school building is a national cultural heritage site.
I advocate the proverb ‘Kokorozashi nomi jisan’, equivalent to the English proverb ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’, as part of our management philosophy. Kokorozashi means having a strong desire to aim in a certain direction, or the kindness to think for the sake of others. I hope that all of our students will keep this proverb in their hearts. The school faculty and staff will also be considerate and compassionate in supporting the growth of our students.
Our school principles are ‘Independence, Cooperation and Responsibility’. I am adding ‘Self-esteem, Compassion, and Internationality,’ to these concepts. I want everyone to act independently with a sense of self-esteem, cooperate with fellow students with a sense of compassion, accept the diversity of ideas and have an international perspective. Staying positive is one’s own choice. One shall not allow others to decide the state of their mind or wellbeing. I wish that our students are able to handle any kind of matter or situation calmly, with a smile on their face, that they love themselves, and be considerate towards the people around themm. It is our wish to nurture ‘the best human beings’ who live with pride, and are respected by those around them.
Our school has an ‘Ichiko style’ that equally values the classes, club activities and events. The pace of learning and activities is very fast and heavily loaded. I want my students to be ambitious and proactive in everything they do. The three years of high school are the most intense and critical years of a student’s life. During this period, the students should learn more and sweat more to have a fulfilling student life. The students must understand their own strengths and weaknesses, and overcome their weaknesses to be able to handle various things.
On a personal note, I was appointed as the principal of our school from April 1, 2023. While people have expectations from me, they also have concerns. I believe that the end goal of human beings and human society, education and technological development is "happiness". We live in a world where the social structure is becoming more complex and the difficulty of survival is increasing. The expectations for the upcoming generations are constantly on the rise. In order to respond to such changes, we aim to be a ‘fun-filled school that nurtures intelligence’, and we would like to strive to further improve our school while maintaining the good old things.
The students in junior high school to high school are in a phase of rapid growth to independent adults through drastic physical, mental, and other changes. In such an important phase of growth, we would like to support the students together with the parents. The school hours are quite busy. Hence, I would especially like to ask parents to spend about 15 minutes jogging or exercising with their children every morning and about 5 minutes of review every night.
To aspiring students and their parents, please feel free to contact us if you are interested in our school. We look forward to hearing from educators, companies and organizations who would like to support our school. I would like to take "school-education" to the next stage of "community-education". We also look forward to hearing from positive media.
